This part of the Dalmation Coast is famous for its islands so I felt we truly experienced a little of the region by visiting one. Even though Hvar was my original preference, it would have been way more like Dubrovnik - with no shortage of restaurants, people and tourists coming and going.
Korčula may have been the bridesmaid at first but by the time we left we had found a hidden gem.
The close-knit community and mini-medieval scale delivers texture and cultural authenticity, with the backup of a terrific luxury hotel along with the great food and breathtaking surroundings. With Korcula, getting there is half the fun too…
