The GIFTSHOP at SINGITA FARU FARU is quite an intimate space at the main camp. They stock T-shirts, clothing in local fabrics, handmade basketware, African homewares, beaded bracelets and earrings made by women who live nearby. For a small store there is plenty of variety - and I loved the way these beautifully picked gifts are simply and tastefully displayed. 

Guests could certainly stay on site and find plenty of items that capture the spirit of the Serengeti reserve at FARU FARU, but for those in a shopping mood, it is well worth visiting the neighbouring camp at SINGITA SABORA. 

True to its tented camp aesthetic, the BOUTIQUE  is quite amazing - not only for the fun of the stand-alone tent space but for the more ambitious range of its treasures. You enter a beautiful tent full of richly decorated exotica and local Tanzanian and East African handicrafts.

There are so many décor elements here, from hand carved furniture to the massive beaded rings that certain Tanzanian tribes wear around their neck.  This is a haven for those who love African culture: the fabrics, hurricane lamps, statues, animal masks, antique metal and gorgeous local trinkets could all recreate this profoundly beautiful place, or simply remind you of your incredible experiences in the Serengeti…
